Prayer To Renew My Passion – First Love

Dear God, my Heavenly Father, I come before You in humble admission that the flame of my first love for You has been flickering. I long for the days when my heart was aflame with passion for You, when my soul was consumed with Your love, when every beat of my heart echoed Your name.

I miss those times when my entire existence was centered around You, and every thought, every action, was a testament of my love for You.

Yet, here I am, Lord, feeling like I am merely going through the motions of faith. My spiritual fervor has been replaced with routine, my passion with complacency.

My heart aches with the realization that I’ve allowed the cares of this world, the worries, distractions, and the deceitfulness of wealth to choke out the fiery love I once had for You.

Isaiah 40:31 But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Psalm 63:1 You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.

Rekindling The Flame Of My First Love

Oh Lord, I desire to return to my first love. I long to rekindle that initial passion and awe that I had when I first encountered Your love. I yearn for the zeal and enthusiasm that marked my early walk with You.

Like the Psalmist, I ask that You will restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.

I confess and repent of my spiritual complacency, of the distractions that have caused my heart to grow cold. I pray for a spiritual revival, for a renewal of my passion and love for You. Reignite the flame of my first love for You, Lord, and help me to keep it burning bright.

Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

James 4:8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Bring Me Back To My First Love

My Father, my God, I cry out to You! Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love! According to your great compassion, blot out my transgression and bring me back to You.

Bring me back to my first love for You. Renew my passion for You, my God. Renew my zeal for Your word. Oh my God, hear the cry of my heart. Give me a grateful heart that will not forget what You did for me.

Let me love You like before. Let me love You with all my heart, with all my soul and with all my mind, in the name of Jesus Christ. You said in Your Word that if I seek You with all my heart, I will find You. Lord, restore me back to my first love, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 46:10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Renew My Passion

Renew my excitement about your work. Give me passion for winning souls again. Let me be sold out to Your will and plans again, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Remove every distraction, as I cast upon you every care that has choked my love for you. Please come and have your way in me, in the name of Jesus Christ. Create in me a clean heart. Renew within me a steadfast spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.

Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Psalm 51:10-12 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
